How to pass time in a healthy way

According to many tech firms, each and every one of us check our cell phone roughly 80 times per day. At this point, if we can make more than 1 minute without checking our phone, we’re practically categorized under a superhero. But spending too much time hunched over our screen is not good. It can give us a tech neck, a minimized attention span and even lead to weight gain. We get only 24 hours every day, and while there are plenty of ways to wring more out of the time we have, there isn’t a way to get more of the stuff. There are plenty of ways to spend your time away from the screen.

  1. Read a book/ magazine/ newspaper: reading is an enjoyable way to pass your time. Because it will not only improve your imagination, but it also allows you to escape your daily routine. When you read a good book or a book of your favourite genre, you really can get lost in the story. That is the power of text, it will make you laugh, cry and fall in love with it. You get to experience a whole new world.
  2. Meditate:meditation is a great way to pass the time. It can help release stress, improve blood flow and amplify overall feelings of happiness. It enables you to relax and throw out the entire day’s stress and feel good about yourself. It affects your emotional and physical health positively.
  3. Art and craft: art and craft is a colourful way to lighten your mood up. Art helps you in managing your feelings, processing feelings and reduce stress and anxiety. Creating art helps you in recognizing feelings that have been hidden in us for a long time. Art and craft involve using creative methods to help people express themselves artistically and aesthetically.
  4. Journalizing: journalizing refers to making a to-do list and jotting down your ideas, thoughts and emotions. Journalizing routine helps in uncovering hidden stories and wisdom and enables you to handle yourself. It helps in improving mood and managing anxiety.
  5. Spend time with your family: in our busy lives, we have got no time for our family. But at-least during dinner or weekends we should try and spend time with our families. It is a great bonding time, and it helps you connect to your roots. A good game of snake and ladders or monopoly will just set your mood right. Or just gossiping about their childhood will make you closer to each other.
  6. Create a vision board: a vision board is a collage of images, goals, interests which are a visual manifestation of one’s aspiration. Creating a vision board is an artistic process and a powerful visualization tool that helps us know our goals better.
  7. Virtual Movie Nights:what is life without a little entertainment? But now that we are not allowed to step out of our house at night we can make up for it by hosting virtual parties! So what you cannot go to the movies you can watch it on your big screen with all your friends on any video calling app. And guess what? You don’t have to pay for it!
  8. Cleaning spree:Okay so how long has it been since you’ve cleaned your closet or room out? So what are you waiting for! Go get up your bed and start with your wardrobe. Have a little dress-up show for yourself. Hit that button and play your favourite songs and clean your room. It is a great way to spend time, and it is very cathartic.

Apart from all these activities, you can do anything you love. But don’t just always get stuck to your phone. Make some time for yourself, your friends and your family. Try to be there for yourself and others.
