How To Maintain Sanity At Home During Online Classes

The pandemic has undoubtedly walloped us all. Businesses are trying hard to make a come back in the market, entrepreneurs are trying their best to keep the audience engaged and then there are teachers who are ensuring how to make the transition of virtual learning as interactive and interesting as possible.

This change might not be liked by a lot of students but it’s convenient if you look at it that way. Here are a few tips we would like to give to get you through this transition and how to maintain your sanity during the virtual learning journey.

  1. Get out of bed and find a good spot at home that will keep you motivated to study. We associate bed to sleep and that in turn will make you lethargic and want to make you sleep a little more if you choose to take your classes in bed.

  1. Virtual learning has its own advantages and one being, attending classes in the same clothes. Don’t do that! Freshen up, change your clothes and make yourself ready to attend the classes without feeling less interested. Changing your attire plays a huge role.

  1. So many subjects, so many assignments and deadlines. Your inbox is bound to get flooded and if you don’t organize it, you’re sure to lose that one important mail whose deadline is fast approaching, in the sea of so many emails. Here’s what you can do- organize your email box with labels to avoid missing out on important deadlines/tasks. Check your inbox twice a day that is morning and night.

  1. Whichever spot in your house you choose to make it your study spot, ensure to keep it clean and tidy. This will motivate you and keep you immersed in your books and the lectures.

  1. Be it a school-goer or a working professional, making a to-do list is imperative. This will help you to keep track of your school progress. When your teacher announces an important task, put due dates next to those task(s) you need to complete. This will also help you with prioritization.

  1. When you take breaks during the course of your online classes, make sure to get some sunshine. Keep in mind the current situation and do not venture out unnecessarily. Go to your balcony or your terrace during the morning hours and let the rays of the sun make you more active and alert. If you can’t do both then just open the windows from where the sun shines the brightest.

  1. Ensure to keep your body active by walking around the house or by just indulging yourself in some physical activity like helping your mom with the household chores. Keeping yourself confined to the same spot can make your body restless and you will end up tiring yourself out.

  1. If you’re assigned to submit a task the next day, set a timer for yourself and do not procrastinate it. After 6-7 hours of everyday learning, we dedicate our time to playing games or watching tv but when you have something important to do, attend to that first.

  1. It is mandatory that you keep a healthy schedule. Do not change your sleeping cycle. Having a fixed routine can make your day more productive. Even if you do not have classes the next day, make sure you wake up at the same time so that it helps your body build a natural clock and can also help avoid fatigue.

  1. Dedicate at least half an hour or an hour helping your mom or dad by assisting them in their tasks. It could be helping your mom in the kitchen, during the meals, and other chores. Help your dad with his duties which could be lending a hand in the garage or helping him in his DIY projects. This way you also get to spend more time with your parents and make the bond stronger.

We hope this helps! Good luck and make the most of your virtual learning experience.
