Articles by grade 6th students | Cambridge Schools In Hyderabad

It is always a proud moment for schools when students come up with their literary creativity and project it by weaving words to form a tapestry of thoughts. And at Meru, we regularly encourage our students to showcase their talents in various forms via competitions, workshops, etc. Keeping in mind the unprecedented lockdown imposed due to the outbreak of the pandemic, we tried to motivate students by conducting an essay writing contest on our Meru Virtual School platform.

We are immensely proud to present the fine literary work by two of our little wordsmiths, Ishani Sunil Ghosh and Somal Siddharth. They have put down their thoughts in an engaging manner which have ultimately fetched them first and second prizes, respectively, in an essay writing competition that was conducted online on Meru Virtual classroom.

One talks about how the world is going to post the lockdown phase and the latter talks about how lockdown has helped in learning new habits. Read the articles below to witness their writing skills and their potential!

The World Post COVID-19 by Ishani Sunil Ghosh

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus. The Coronavirus spreads primarily through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose when an infected person coughs or sneezes, so it’s important that you also practice respiratory etiquette (for example, by coughing into a flexed elbow.

Coronavirus has become the biggest challenge for humanity in the 21st century. This pandemic has changed human lives with vast measures. It can also create a huge shift in the way of dealing life in many ways like human behaviour, social economy, awareness of health and cleanliness etc.

There are a number of possible post-pandemic features, all dependent on how the government and society respond to Coronavirus and its economic aftermath. Hopefully, we will use this crisis to rebuild, produce something better and more humane. But we may slide into something worse too if we don’t follow the required measures.

The world will definitely get back to normal once again if we all follow these simple rules and besides, we all will also learn a very important lesson from this pandemic.

A prolonged lockdown has healed Earth and blessed us with fresh air to breathe after a long time. The human life can adopt certain new lifestyle in the future such as:

We will know how to maintain social distancing and not getting into crowds.
We will know how to maintain a proper balance in our food and in our diet.
That is how we can achieve a healthy lifestyle in the future.

We will know that the precautions we take to avoid Coronavirus will not only keep us away from Coronavirus but also keep us healthy.
We will know that we do not have to go to hospitals for small things. Instead, we can just teleshop medicine at home.
People will be more interested in online shopping rather than going to shops for buying things.
This pandemic has taught human life to be independent in domestic life, too, where all the members in the family share their work equally and help each other.
At last, we should deal with this crisis in a positive way and try to contribute for a better future

and lifestyle.

Two Learnings From My Experience During Lockdown by Somal Siddharth

Introduction of the Topic:

I am Somal Siddharth from VI A Cambridge. I love playing Tennis and want to excel in this sport. I believe in “Health is Wealth”. For any sportsperson, the three important attributes should be Fitness, A healthy diet and a good attitude with composure. A healthy mind will always be part of a fit body. During these lockdowns, times to efficiently use my time my father has introduced me to fitness.

Daily routine:

I wake up every day at 7 AM and get ready for the fitness regime. My usual routine consists of

Warmup
Skipping
Shoulder exercises
Hurdles
Floor exercises

After my fitness regime, I do some rallies with my father. My main objective is to improve Slice, Volley, Backhand and Forehand. In holidays I stopped binge eating and concentrating on Balanced healthy diet. The lockdown really helped me to eat homemade food. I feel my body is lightweight, and it has really helped my movements. Also, sometimes I try to join my grandmother and sister for Yoga sessions which helps improve my flexibility.

Hobbies

I started helping my family in household chores like mopping, cleaning and watering plants. Recently I started rock-painting. We indulge in family times by playing indoor games like Chinese checkers, chess etc. Also, we in the limited space, try to play cricket and basketball.

Closure:

Though I miss playing with my friends in the open air, I still see it as a blessing that I could spend more time my with my family and making the most use of it. I keep in touch with my friends through zoom meetings. I wish the lockdown ends by end of May so that we can join back school. Waiting eagerly for the same.
