An Award Winning Writing

Our students have always surprised us with their intellectuality and creative thinking. We are very proud of our two students, Manasa Varanasi and Anshika, for demonstrating exceptional library and writing skills, and pleased with their accomplishment: The two received awards for their articles. The words the students utilised to describe the stories are truly remarkable and a reflection of the literature potential in them, and a motivation for others who aspire to dream big.

Read the articles written by the students below.

From The Heaven Above – By Anshika

From the heaven above

The vast blue sky,

The eagle above obstacles fly,

The thrushes flying in a herd,

Nothing here is absurd.

With the stretch of green,

Oh! All this looks so serene,

The specks of red,

Deck the tree from bottom to head.

The beautiful pearls that drop down,

Reminds to be grateful and never frown,

The soothing sound that warms the heart,

Reminds that He always walks along, till eternity, right from start.

And then, the mix of orange and yellow,

The sweet fragrance of the mellow,

A call to be back home,

Birds are headed back after a roam.

All over the ground, as the feathers hover,

Because by tomorrow, new feathers will be spread all over,

After a patient wait,

Comes a diamond, who powerfully radiates.

Radiates rays of love and compassion

Towards a couple and manifold increase their affection.

Everything swayed in the heaven’s above,

When almighty made your alliance, overflowing with His blessings and love.

As I stand on this place called Earth

And on seeing you, I remember what happened in the place where there is no dearth,

“That was how the day and night had felt,

With an aerial view, when

He showed me, my parents, in gratitude to Him, my heart melt”

My Cowardice By Manasa Varanasi (Grade 7 A)

Dear Diary,

I have something to tell you, which I haven’t shared with anyone yet. I am waiting to describe how I was juggling between civilized social education and natural human instincts. Personally, natural instincts are something which I use impulsively. But I wonder why reacted differently this time.

This incident took place when I was awoken today, early in the morning with the birds chirping along with the bright sun dancing in glee. Though it was a beautiful atmosphere, I hadn’t felt it touching me so much as I was really drowsy and wanted to stay in bed. After all, it was a Sunday!

As I walked through the bushes to my water trough, I was surprised on seeing a green blue snake; its colour was reflecting in the still water. I felt neither fear nor any aversion on seeing it. Instead, a strong sense of bonding and fascination took me over. As I stared at it, it was drinking water in a very relaxed manner, casting a spell on me. I stood there with an empty pitcher, waiting for the snake to quench its dry throat. It had come from the burning bowels of the earth, passing through the fissure near my wall. The reasoning of my mind, my rationale and social belief prodded me to kill this creature, but my natural instincts didn’t agree.

It still is a puzzling thought to me, why did my social education overpower my gut feelings? It had prompted me to kill the snake. As I took a twig from the damp soil and tried to strike it, the snake turned to me with its blue eyes like ink drops, looking at me with pity. As it suddenly vanished in quick swirls into the depths, it left me with the guilt, imagining myself to be so cruel!

I guess snakes can be venomous, yet this one hadn’t harmed me. Though I behaved like a coward, I really wish to meet the snake to apologize. I wish I get one such chance. Oh, someone is knocking at the door. Meet you later.
